Since the early 19 th century, Turnhout, a small town north of Antwerp, has
been a centre of playing card making. Various graphics companies specialised
in the production of playing cards. In 1970, Brepols,
Van Genechten and Biermans
joined forces. Their experience and know-how were combined in one joint-venture,
with the name of Cartamundi. More than 150 years of experience have enabled
Cartamundi to grow into a world leading producer of playing cards
You can discover the history of Belgian card making in the wonderful playing card museum in Turnhout, located in the Druivenstraat.
